William A. “Bill” Bailey

William A. Bailey 83, passed away Saturday February 24th, 2024, in the comfort of his home. From a previous marriage, William was married to Ella R. (Wright) Bailey. For the past 23 years he has been the husband to Loretta Dancey.  
Born in Reading, Pennsylvania he was the son of Alex and Mae Francis (Tyson) Bailey.  
He was a graduate of Reading Senior High School. He started his employment at the Reading Hospital and later became a Lead-Man and Union Representative for the Garden State Tannery where he later retired.  
He was a faithful member and Trustee of the Union Baptist Church. William enjoyed watching his Philadelphia Eagles, Basketball, and Boxing. William was a grill master his specialty was grilling steaks.
William is survived by his spouse Loretta Bailey, three sons; Elgin C.Bailey and William Bailey Jr.(Diane) both of Reading, and Franco Bailey of Philadelphia. A daughter Sheila Lewis, of reading, Pa. And his extended family Sean and Tracey Dancey both of Lancaster, Pa.
William is survived by his siblings Robert Bailey of Temple, Tx, and Clochette Edwards of Reading.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sisters Janice, Carrie, Debbie, Marva, Trumilla, Louizer. And also his daughter Moneica N Bailey. His extended family Joseph Dancy and Latona Sims.
William was a loving grandfather to 24 Grandchildren and 49 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
