Sarah Ann (Gibson) Stewart went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2022. She was the wife of Jeremiah J. Stewart. They shared 40 years of marriage together.
Born in Reading, Pa., on September 18, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Warren J. Gibson and Dorothy E. (Smith) Gibson. She was a 1965 graduate from Reading Senior High School.
Sarah Ann was employed at the YMCA and BCAP for many years. She retired from the Social Security Office after 35 years. She was currently employed at H&R Block where she was a tax specialist for the past 15 years.
Sarah Ann was a member of Zion Baptist Church. She was also a member of the NAACP, 55+ Senior Club, BICA, Golden Leaf Club, Sarah Jackson Chapter 74 OES, PHA as their recording secretary, and was very active in the community.
Sarah Ann will be remembered for her services in the community, being a dedicated worker, and loved by many.
She is survived by her husband Jeremiah J. Stewart, three brothers, James L. Gibson, Barry L. Gibson, and Warren J. Mayo. She was also predeceased by her brother Daniel T. Gibson, three sisters, Cheryl E. Gibson, Anna E. Gibson, and Roberta E. Gibson.
She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and one very special niece, Charnai I. Aviles who she loved very much.
