Ricardo Mercado-Baez

Ricardo Mercado-Baez, 69, passed away on May 28th, 2023, at approximately 9:00 A.M. at the St. Joseph Hospital. He was the husband of Blanca Cruz. They shared 30 years of marriage together.  
Born in Ponce, PR, he was the son of Israel Mercado and Judith Baez. He was a high school graduate and spent most of his life driving trucks and working construction.   
He was a member of the Monte De Los Olivos Church. He enjoyed singing, dancing, and making jokes. He will be remembered for his kind spirit and loveable personality.   
He is survived by spouse Blanca Cruz, and by his two children Ricardo Mercado-Cruz and Quelinda Mercado.  
The funeral service held on June 2nd 2023 at 11 A.M. at Harris Funeral Home (222 N Front St, Reading PA 19601) with interment at 12:30 P.M. at the Laureldale Cemetery. The viewing will be held from 10 A.M. to the time of the service.
