Melvin Ross

Melvin Ross was born in Baltimore, Maryland to the late William Finley and Irma Butts. He was called home on June 22, 2024 at Reading Hospital in Reading, PA., of natural causes.  
He leaves behind to cherish his memories, 2 daughters, Sharon Ross Smith, her husband, Dwight Smith of Philadelphia PA., Melkeisha Williams and her husband, Adolph Williams of Norristown PA., 2 sons Melvin Ross Jr., and Tremains Johnson, both of Pottstown, PA., 1 brother Von Butts his wife, Lethea Butts of Reading, PA.,1 sister, Journey Karen Butts of Erie, PA.  He also leaves behind a host of grandkids: Chynice, Jaheem and Daylijah (Sharon), Lamont, Jordan and Elijah (Lisa), Keyshawn, Kayden and Izaiah (Melvin Jr.), and Melissa, Jasmine, Khmer, Jada and Kayla (Melkeisha), and a host of family and friends.
Melvin enlisted into the military February 04, 1970 where he went to serve his country. He liked to create moments of intense excitement, bitter defeat and hilarious inside jokes. One of his favorite sayings was "Seriously"!  
He was an apprentice in a barbershop in Baltimore for many years. Melvin enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family, he was known for causing both smiles and groans simultaneously which endeared him to all who had the pleasure of playing spades with him, you could never tell what his next play was going to be.
Proceeded in death was 1 daughter, Lisa Newman, 5 brothers Clifford Butts, David Butts, Glenn Butts, Frankie Butts, Johns Butts and 1 sister Deborah Butts.
Rest in Peace Melvin Ross, your memory will live on in the hearts of those who shared countless rounds of laughter and love with you.
