Marvin Blanding, 75, passed away on Wednesday, June 24th 2026, at Wyomissing Health and Rehabilitation Center with family by his side.
Marvin was born January 10th, 1951 in Abington, Pennsylvania. He was the Son of the late Rufus Blanding Sr. and Lucille Blanding. He graduated from Hatboro Horsham High School.
After high school Marvin entered the work force and was employed at The Reading Hospital Medical Center (14 years), Glidden Paint Factory (20 years), and most recently retired from Berks County Intermediate Unit (15 years).
In Marvin’s free time he enjoyed staying active and going to the gym. He enjoyed cooking and dressing to impress. He had a passion for cars and enjoyed cruising in his sports car and Jeep Wrangler. He also loved watching his favorite sports team The Philadelphia Eagles. Marvin also vigorously enjoyed socializing with his family and friends.
Marvin was preceded in death by his brother Rufus Blanding Jr (RJ), and sisters Clara”Bell” Duncan and Margaret Blanding.
Mr Blanding is survived by his brothers Kurt Blanding and Derwin Blanding; his nieces and nephews Ronnie Duncan, Jamar Blanding, Shauntel Blanding, Leslie Duncan, Darlene Duncan, and Kim Duncan; and many great & great-great nieces and nephews, including, Marcus, Jeremy, Cameron, Uriah, Nolan, Chanel, Jazmine, Ciani, Seraphina, Naja, Naomi, and Zack.
