Martha Sue Beddell, born on December 13, 1947, in Talbot County, Georgia, passed away on January 7, 2026. Martha was the child of the late Only and Emily (Mitchell) Beddell. She received her education in Thomaston, Georgia. Later, Martha relocated to Reading, Pennsylvania, to be closer to her brother and sister.
For over two decades, she worked at Luden’s Candy Factory in Reading until she retired. After her retirement, Martha returned to Georgia and lived there until her mother’s passing. She returned to Reading and became a resident at the Wyomissing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She remained there until her passing.
Martha was a member of Mount Zion COGIC, under the leadership of the late Elder James Glimp, and now Pastor Elder Kevin Glimp.
Martha is predeceased by her sisters, Annie May Cooper, Maeola Ellison, one brother, Melvin Beddell, and her nieces, Victoria and Kinatai Ellison. She leaves to cherish fond memories, her great nephew, Nasir Ellison, her caregiver, Janet M. Cooper, and her four great nieces, six great-great nieces and nephews, and many other family members, church members, and friends.
