Luz B. Collazo-Gonzalez

Luz B. Collazo-Gonzalez, 70, passed away at the West Reading Hospital on May 27, 2021. She was the wife of Ramon Velasquez. They shared over 15 loving years together. 

Born in Utuado, Puerto Rico.  She was the daughter of Tomas Collazo and Candida Gonzalez. She has 12 brothers and sisters. She graduated from the public schools in Puerto Rico.
While in Puerto Rico, Luz worked at the local coffee farm in her hometown. When she came to the states she brought her love and skill of gardening.  Luz was known to of had the best garden in the neighborhood.  Luz always shared her fruits and vegetables with all. 
She was a member of the Genesis Today Church  at 1820 Kutztown Road in Reading.  She enjoyed sewing, making blankets, crossword puzzles, drawing and gardening.  Luz was greatly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 
Luz is survived by Marylin Matias of Florida, Adam Cuevas (Aura) of Reading, Carlos Cuevas (Glendaliz) of Temple, José Gonzalez (Rachael Henry) of Reading, Julie Velasquez also of Reading and over 20 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by Rafael Matias. 
The funeral service for Luz will be held on Saturday, June 5 at 9:30 AM at the Harris Funeral Home, 222 North Front St., Reading, PA. Interment will be at the Laureldale Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 8:00 AM until the time of the funeral service.
