John N. DeBellotte beloved husband and father passed away Sunday, November 23, 2025, at his residence in Muhlenberg Township at the age of 81. He was the husband of Roberta DeBellotte, whom he married on May 8, 1999, and celebrated 26 years of marriage.
Born in Grenada West Indies, he was the son of the late James Arthur Best and Anna May DeBellotte. John immigrated to the United States and proudly became a US citizen in 1988.
John was a craftsman skilled in multiple trades. During his time in Grenada, he was employed as a marine mechanic. He also contracted as a carpenter and plumber until his retirement.
He was a member of Rehoboth Seventh-day Adventist Church, Reading and often drove the church van and volunteered for church activities. John enjoyed building, gardening, photography and traveling with his wife. Their journeys took them to far-reaching places such as Australia, England, and Africa, among others.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children, John M. DeBellotte, Maureen DeBellotte, Kathy Hamilton, and Laurien Frazier; Stepchildren, Anthony Bell, Theodore Bell, Karen Bullock, Rachel Buchanon, Deanna Jackson, Sheila Jones, and Audrey Green; Siblings, Jeremiah Roberts, Albert DeBellotte, and Dorothy McLeod; grandchildren, Antonia DeBellotte, Danier DeBellotte, Cassandra DeBellotte, Felicia Hamilton, Marcel DeBellotte, Abdul Uqdah, Aaliyah Jackson, Kenyata Uqdah, Ibene Buchanon, Gabrielle Vasquez, Angela Bell, Kalise Cook, Shakir Cook, Cameron Bell, Korahn Williams, Rakia Wiggins, Jahmel Williams, Marques Johnson, Marissa Johnson and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, James Arthur Best and Anna May DeBellotte; siblings, Hazel Simmons, Daphne Francis, and Viola Roberts.
