Grace Ifeyinwa Oduah, 62, passed away peacefully on March 15th, 2024 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
Princess Grace Ifeyinwa was born in Lagos, Nigeria, December 5th, 1962. She was the Daughter of the late John Igwe D. O. Oduah and the late Victoria Oduah. Grace attended Primary and Secondary School in Nigeria, later traveling to the United States to attend St Pauls College in Virginia. She then moved to Pennsylvania and pursued a career as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as a Cosmetologist and Esthetician. She spent the last 15 years working for the Reading School District as an Attendance Secretary. Grace also studied vigorously and took her Citizenship test to officially become a United States Citizen in 2022.
She was a member of St Margaret's Church, and was a practicing Catholic.
In Grace’s free time she enjoyed shopping with and for her Grandchildren, making traditional Nigerian dishes, and watching Nigerian movies. She attended several conventions and events in celebration of her native heritage. What Grace enjoyed most was spending time with her family and grandchildren, laughing and making memories. Loving and caring for her family was her American dream.
Grace is survived by her three Sons, William Sims, Jamar Blanding and Wife Chelsea Rich, and Shauntell Blanding; 11 grandchildren Diamonte, Da’hazya, Adrian, Tyannia, Paradize, Kushon, Ox Kareem, Braulio, Uriah, Seraphina, Nolan; two great great-grandchildren Avaeah, and Legacy. She is also survived by her God Daughters Johana Ward and Olivia. She leaves behind a host of friends, siblings, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her Son, Adrian “Ox” Devon Oduah.
The Viewing will be held on Friday, March 22nd at 10:00 am at St. John Missionary Baptist Church. The Service will be held at 11:00 am, followed by the burial at Charles Evans Cemetery.
