Gail Roberts

Gail Roberts, 72 passed from this life to eternal life on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 11:10 AM at Laureldale Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  

She was born in Reading, PA, the daughter of Charles Milton Roberts, Sr and Mary Louise (Wright) Roberts.  She graduated from Reading Senior High School in June 1969.  She attended Penn State University and completed 4 years of study in 3 years.  She then did a year of externship at Hershey Medical Center with the goal of becoming a doctor.  However, with the many challenges and various unexpected life circumstances, her thoughts and goals changed.

She worked for CNA as a claims adjuster for approximately 3 years and finally decided she was going to go back and get her degree in Nursing.

She enrolled at Alvernia University and graduated in May 1993 with a Bachelor of Science degree.  She took the tests and became a licensed Registered Nurse.

She worked at Reading Hospital for several years in the ER.  She then went to Hershey Medical Center and worked in the ER, Trauma Center and Critical Care Unit.  Her last position at Hershey was the nurse you spoke to in the Poison Control Center.  She always said when that phone rang, you never knew what the issue was going to be but she felt like if she could do anything to help that person survive, then she had done what she was put there for. Helping others made her happy.

Her last place of employment was Supportive Concepts.  She was the Registered Nurse in charge of supervising the caregivers, overseeing the dietary concerns of clients and visiting the clients in-home. She worked hard to provide the necessities everyone needed.  She was a busy woman.

She was a member of Union Baptist Church.  She was one of those kids who folks would say today was always there.  She was a part of the Youth Church, sang in the Youth Chior and worked with Vacation Bible School.

She loved WWE.  Her favorite wrestlers were Roman Reigns, Rick O’Shea and Seth Rollins.  She watched every chance she got and often with her brother Dale.  She also loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. That was her team.

She is survived by her brother Dale Roberts, Shillington, Pa., her sister Regina (Roberts) Burton and James, Reading, PA; nieces, Juanita (Moore) Comer and Jon, Fort Worth, TX; Natalie (Moore) Wolfe-Reimnitz and Jason, Reading, Pa;  Colton Moore Jr, Temple, PA, Richard Burton, Bear, DE; Bryan Burton and Heather, LaPlata, MD; and Bradley Burton, Shoemakersville, PA; 3 great nieces and 6 great nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother Charles M. Roberts, Jr.
