Gail M. Harris

Gail M. Harris, passed away on 04/07/2024 at Reading Hospital.   She was the life partner of Frank Simms.  

Born in Reading, PA, she was the daughter of the late Morgan A. and Elma P. Harris.  She went on to get culinary training at Job Corp and attended beauty school.  She was a master of many talents that she shared often with her family.  

She enjoyed knitting, cooking, and exploring the  naturalistic paths of wellness and health.  Her infectious personality and soulful singing voice brought light into every room she entered.  She had a way with children and didn't skip an opportunity to provide structure while uplifting them with her love and patience. She was very loving.

Gail was survived by her son Durshon Johnson and daughter Porshia Taft, wife of Greg Taft.  Her 4 grandchildren, Lailah Taft, Jubei Hunter, Sophie Johnson, and Mya Johnson.  Her siblings Leslie Harris, Terry Johnson, wife of Richard Johnson, Mary Harris, and Gloria Harris.  Also a host of nieces and nephews that love and miss her dearly. She was precedeased by her mother Elma P. Harris, father Morgan A. Harris and her niece Alexus Duncan. 

A memorial service will held on April 12th, 2024 at 11am at Harris Funeral Home, located at 222 N. Front St. Reading, PA 19601.
