Dr. Joyce Y. Beddell

Minister Dr. Joyce Beddell, (Church Mother), 74, of 1040 Penn Street entered eternal rest on Saturday, November 6th, 2021 at the Reading Hospital. She was born November 17, 1946, at Saint Joe’s Hospital, in Reading PA.  She was a beloved daughter to the late William Wesley Ennels Sr. and the Late Elsie Marie (Rider) Ennels.  In addition to her parents Dr. Beddell was greeted in heaven by her Late husband Melvin Beddell, 2 daughters Charlotte Smith and Earline King, 2 Sisters Dorothy Lee, and Norma Ennels, and Bro. William Westly Ennels Jr.  
Growing up Joyce Beddell attended the Reading School District and Reading Area Community College is known as (RACC). She Worked at Luden’s Candy Factory and then Berks Heim for many years, and later was an on-call person for her daughter Earlene’s Nursing Business.
Dr. Beddell was a member of Mount Zion under the Late Pastor James Glimp and his accessor Pastor Kevin Glimp for many years and is known for her community outreach ministry, called “Summer Breakout.” She came to God’s Worship & Praise Temple of Spirit & Truth Ministries in 2002, where she served as the Pastor’s Aide and Armor Bearer and was ordained a Minister under the founding Pastor & Co-Pastor, The Late Rev Charles Davis & Pastor Edna Davis (Lewis) in 2003, Her Love for God extended her knowledge through the United Christian Institute, Reading Extension, under Dean Simmons. She became a Doctor of Sacred Theology in 2013, as well as a teacher & officer of the Institute. Dr. Beddell wore many hats in many places; she later became the church Mother under Apostle Edna Lewis in 2018. Dr. Beddelle was always on the battlefield even when she was physically down; you can bet her spirit was up praying and ready to do the next thing. Many were saved under her ministry.
Doctor Beddell loved & cherished her family, but when she gave you that eye, she spoke a lot of words, without saying a word, and you knew something was next. She loved hard and would help anyone in need.  She loved to cook and could cook. She loved celebrating, especially Jesus! She always shared God with each member of her family, and with everyone else, she could reach. If you knew her she was going to introduce you to Jesus! She treasured her two long-time friends Sister Kay and Sister Roberts who shared in ministry & family’s memoirs...

Doctor Beddell spirit will be carried on by her daughters, Cherly Quigley, (Fiancée Steven) of Reading Pa, Joyce Amos, and Shelly Engels-Fofana of Maryland. Grand Children, Greg Sims (Brooklyn), Sammy Sims (Tiffany), Rachael Sims, Zackery King (Kiara), Imani King, Alisha King, Alvinzar King Jr., Nigel Homes, LaWann Engels-Folana, Isaiah Fofana,  Irelene (Renee) Amos, Jovita Amos. All of Reading Pa. Also she leaves behind a host Great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends to cherish her memory.
