Dorothy Mae Johnson

Dorothy May Johnson, a beloved 91-year-old, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Reading Hospital.

Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Dorothy’s high school education was completed in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Her professional journey took her to Bachman Pretzel and later to Western Electric.

Dorothy found joy in watching game shows, Judge Judy, and other entertaining programs. Her strength and no-nonsense personality will be cherished by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Velma Johnson, who resides in Reading, Pennsylvania. Her parents and one brother, Issac Johnson, Jr., and one sister, Hattie (Johnson) Snow, preceded her in death.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 24, at 11:00 PM at the Charles Evans Cemetery, 1119 Centre Ave, Reading, PA 19601. 

The Ministry of Comfort has been entrusted to the Harris Funeral Home.
