Life Reflections of Dennis “Tinky” Jones
Dennis Jones, affectionately known as “Tinky,” aged 70, of Reading, Pennsylvania, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16th. He resided at 1224 Eckert Avenue before being admitted to the hospital for treatment. In his final days, Dennis received care at the Fairland Nursing Center, surrounded by his loving family when he passed.
Dennis was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, the beloved son of the late Thomas Nelson and the late Betty Jean Jones. He attended schools in the Reading School District.
Dennis accepted Christ into his life, finding comfort and strength in his faith. His favorite scripture was Psalm 23, which his brother, Pastor Jerry Jones, often read to him during his illness.
A hardworking and dedicated individual, Dennis was employed as a housekeeper at Community General Hospital for many years. He also worked as a handyman, specializing in lawn care, painting, and general maintenance, which brought him joy and pride.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Nelson and Betty Jean Jones, and his brothers Kenny, Barry, Marvin, and Marice.
Dennis leaves behind cherished memories for his stepchildren, whom he raised as his own: Kimanona (Kimmy), Dominique, Johnny, and Styles. He also leaves his loving grandchildren, Julis (Bug Eyes), Jasic, Nasic, Ajanay, Walayshia (Cooley), and Shane.
He is survived by his two brothers, Pastor Jerry Jones (wife Minister Renee Jones) and Gregory Jones (wife Sheila), as well as his two sisters, Patricia Custis and Joann Jones. Also mourning his loss are his sisters-in-law, Louise, Viola, and Debra, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Dennis’s warm heart, hard work, and unwavering faith will live on in the memories of all who knew and loved him.
