Denise Ann Scott

Denise Scott, 37, passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, New York. 

Born in Reading, Pennsylvania, she is the daughter of David A. Scott and Sadie D. LaBoy. Denise attended Reading High School and enjoyed working around the house.

She was a member of Zion Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and going on TikTok.  Denise will be lovingly remembered for her laughter, beautiful smile, kindness, loving spirit, and willingness to help everyone. She was known for her cooking skills, playful sense of humor, and especially her love for sandals — never shoes. ☺️

Denise is survived by her partner, Harry Acevedo; her children, Jeremiah Marland, Jadiel Morales, Jayceon Acevedo, and Nyasialynn Acevedo; her sisters, Angelica Morales-Gonzalez of Reading and Carmen L. Harris; her brothers, David Scott of Reading, Darris Scott, and Jarren Scott-Hammond (Ashley Dengler); nieces, Jade, Amari and Jaliah Scott; nephew; Quincy Scott-Hammond, her paternal grandfather, Charles L. Jenerette; her stepmother, Maureen Altavilla; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. 

She was predeceased by her mother; her maternal and paternal grandmothers; and her maternal grandfather.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Union Baptist Church, 211 Schuylkill Avenue, Reading, PA 19601. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of service.
