David Lee Robinson born August 5, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA to the late Raymond and Gladys Wilson, answered God's call and went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 21, 2023.
David was the loving husband of the late Janice N. Robinson for 40 years. From their blessed union was born their loving son, Michael T. Robinson.
David graduated from Octorara Area High School in Parksburg, PA in 1961. Shortly after graduating, he went to serve his country in the United States Army. He served for 3 years from 1961 through 1963. David was a respected and faithful employee of General Battery, Ceramic Corp, Med- Ed, & UGI Utilities Inc., serving the community until his retirement from UGI in 2004. You might see Dave in his gear anywhere in the city. He was the UGI man.
David was a faithful member at Union Baptist Church of Reading where he served as a trustee for many years. He also worked with the Community Center Team to assure that while the Daycare was open the building was secure. He often came by just to check in and see if there was anything he could do. Most people were not aware that David had a beautiful voice until one day he made the mistake of joining the male chorus here at Union. The secret was out, Dave could sing. David enjoyed his sports. He loved the Indianapolis Colts, The Los Angeles Dodgers, and The Boston Celtics. I guess you could say he was a sports fanatic. He was a loving caring man who had a heart of gold. Dave would do anything he could to help you, His demeanor was quiet and peaceful but he commanded respect.
