Chester Russell (Jr.) Ney

Chester Russell Ney Jr, 76, passed away on December 29, 2021, at the Reading Hospital. Born in Pottsville, he was the son of the late Chester R. Ney and Irene Showers Ney. He attended Pottsville schools. He was proud of his time in the US Navy.
 He was survived by his children: his daughter Laura Belanger and her husband Joseph of Etters, his daughter Tomorrow Risch and her husband Kurt of Monroeton, his daughter Heavenly Ney of Lansdale, and his son Chester R Ney III and his wife Anakai of Spring City. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
 In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Christopher Ney, and an infant daughter.
 He will be interred at Fort Indiantown Gap on April 1, 2022, at 1:00 p.m.
 Chester had a lifelong struggle with mental illness and addiction that strained his relationships with his family. His family would like to thank his friends and the staff at Reading Hospital for reaching out and reuniting him with his family just prior to his death. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a shelter or other ministry that supports those with mental illness.
