Life Reflections
Bernard Kenneth Buchanon, affectionately known as POPS, peacefully transitioned to his heavenly home on Saturday, January 15, 2022, at home. Bernard was the son of the late Bernard “Buns” Buchanon and his parents the late Gregory H. Fletcher Sr. and Robin Fletcher.
Bernard was educated in the Reading Public School System and a graduate of Reading Sr. High School. From the age of (6) six, Bernard participated in the Northwest Spartans football league. Bernard was raised up and became an active member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of late Reverend Dr. Richard J. Manning, where he attended Sunday school, youth choir, and was a member of the Male Usher Board. Bernard enjoyed watching sports and URL Rap Battles on Television. He had a huge sneaker collection and loved dressing in Ralph Lauren Polo outfits. He was a die-hard Kansas City Chief fan. Bernard enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his family and friends always making time to tell them he loved them. Bernard married the Love of his life, Ashly Brown, and to this union, they had a beautiful daughter Kaylani Skye Buchanon, who was born January 11, 2022.
Bernard leaves to cherish fond memories his loving wife Ashly, a beautiful baby daughter Kaylani, his loving mother Robin Fletcher, brothers Omar Smith, Jullian Buchanon, Gregory Fletcher Jr., Jarad Fletcher (Johanna) Kareem Fletcher, and Willie D. Duncan, Sisters Niesha and Tiesha Buchanon, Joanna Castillo, Cynthia L. Stevenson, a special Loving grandmother Thelma H. Dickey, a special Mother and Father in law Clarence and Ruby Brown Sr., brother in law Clarence Jr. (Katie) Cody, sister in law, Alisha (Yemi) AJaxi, aunts & uncles JoAnn, Loyd, Deneice, Carlotta, Tracy, Penny, and John. A host of nieces, nephews, cousin’s relatives, and friends. He was predeceased by his father’s Bernard, Gregory, Brother Justin Shane Buchanon, grandparents, Waldo Dickey, Nathaniel Conover, William Fletcher, Rose M. Fletcher, Chinars Buchanon, and Jessie Harvey
