Alda Laverne Chambers

Alda Laverne Chambers age 65 affectionately known to some as “Laverne” or “Boo Boo” passed away on May 16,2024 at UPMC Hospital in Carlisle Pennsylvania

Alda is a graduate of Susquehanna Township High School Class of 1976. Alda loved the Arts. After graduation she went on to study Ballet at The Philadanco Dance Company in Philadelphia, PA.

Alda went on to extend her education by attending Penn State University Main Campus and Harrisburg Area Community College.

Alda is preceded in death by her Fathers Donald Prather of Harrisburg and Joseph Jordan of Steelton, sister Rose Marie Chambers, grandparents Frank and Drucie Jordan, grandmothers Anna Drpa and Gladys Harclerode, grandfather Thomas Hemsley, and a nephew James Taylor.

Alda is survived by her mother Eugenia (Jean) Prather, sisters Yvonne Britton (Joe) of Harrisburg, Diane Cartwright (Prather) of Bear, Delaware,Thelma Williams of Harrisburg, brothers Thomas Chambers of Harrisburg and Philip Alexander of Snellville, Georgia. Nieces Sharmika Perry, VaNesha Davenport, Danielle Everett, and Tahria Alexander, nephews Donovan Cartwright, Cody Alexander, and great nephew Darnel Rouge, along with a host of family and friends.

Alda will be missed but never forgotten.
