Cynthia’s Life Story
On March 28, 1959, there was a wonderful occurrence in the City of Reading, Pennsylvania, the birth of Cynthia Diane Weaver to Pressley Day and Barbara Garnett. Cynthia was presented to the world to bring joy, laughter, and hope to all whom she encountered. With God’s grace and family guidance, Cynthia developed into a young lady of integrity and distinction. An intellectually astute woman, Cynthia attended Reading High School in Reading, PA. Later in life, she was blessed with her husband and four beautiful children.
Cynthia Diane Weaver’s life story reflects many years of unyielding faith, notable accomplishments, and acts of kindness. Cynthia worked as a Teacher Assistant in the St. Albin School. She was a member of the Juneteenth Committee, where she was honored for her service. Sister Weaver was an active member in St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Reading, PA, where she served as a Deaconess and Missionary. Cynthia loved arts, crafts, planting flowers, floral arranging, and animals. Cynthia Diane Weaver will be remembered as a proud matriarch with a generous heart, brilliant smile, and zest for life. Her loving and nurturing influence radiates in the lives of everyone she touched; family, friends, neighbors, and strangers alike.
Surviving to cherish her loving memory are her husband of 29 years, Hermond L. Weaver; four children, son Ellyso “Will” Weaver, three daughters Alicia Weaver, Shannon Williams, Latisha Mahone (James) all of Reading, PA. Four sisters; Beverly L. Chisholm (Oliver) of Texas, Dorothy A. Moore (Torrey) of Georgia, Linda Anthony (Michael) of Pottstown, PA., Daytrell Wheeler (Dayton) of Pottstown, PA. Eight grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Cynthia was predeceased by her stepfather, John T. Garnett, sister, Cheryl Garnett and her loving mother, Barbara Garnett.
Services will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 28th, 2019 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, 436 S. 7thStreet, with the Reverend Jerry Jones presiding. Viewing will be from 9-10:30. Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park following the service. Ministry of Comfort is entrusted to Harris Funeral Home, 222 N. Front Street, Reading, Pa 19601.
