Beverly Riley Obituary

Beverly E. Riley, 77, passed away Monday, November 5th, 2018 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Arthur Tucker and Wilhelmina (Ellis) Tucker on September 28, 1941, in Brooklyn, NY.  Beverly received her formal education in the New York City Public School System.  She graduated from Eastern District High School in 1959.  

Beverly held several jobs until finding employment with the New York City Transit Authority from 1987 through 2001.  Upon her retirement, she relocated to Reading, PA.  Sister Riley was a very active member in the New Testament Church of God, (Brooklyn, NY), where she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.  When Beverly relocated to Reading, PA, she attended Holy Trinity Church of God, under the pastorship of Bishop Robert Brookins, of which she and her husband became faithful members.

Surviving to cherish her loving memory are her husband of 31 years, James E. Riley, her two daughters Robin J. Wright and Nicole D. Brown, one son Seymour Edwards, son-in-law Phillip Wright, brother Arthur “Sonny” Tucker and sister-in-law, Allison Tucker.  Bonus daughters, Henrietta, Donna, Yvonne, and Celeste.  Bonus sons, Antoine, Willie, and Eric.  Grandchildren, LaShaun, Robyn, TJ, Anthony, Kevin, Antonetta, Dominic, Rhaven, Kiiren, Patric, Amelia, and Dion.  Great grands, Kendell, Chauncy, Reign, Kevin III, Jada, Joy, and Lamar.  Her nieces, Lindsay, Shea, and Ace. Nephews, Michael, Jonathan, and Chris.  Great Niece, Vienna.  Great nephews, Jameer, Dylan and Gavin and a host of dear friends and neighbors who were also considered a part of her extended family.

 

Funeral services to celebrate Beverly’s life will be held Tuesday at 11 AM at Holy Trinity Church of God 130 W. Buttonwood St., Reading, with Bishop Robert E. Brookins, officiating.  

Viewing begins at 10 AM.  

Interment will be in the Charles Evans Cemetery.

Repass immediately follows the burial.  Family and friends will be received at the Abraham Lincoln Hotel for dinner and fellowship.
